These are some of the most common problems people experience with their sleep sets. Please follow the directions as these are the easiest ways to cure the problem:
Too Hard? Too Soft? Comfort Problems with a New Mattress :
The most common complaint people have with a mattress is comfort. If the problem you are experiencing is comfort related i.e. mattress is too hard or too soft, and it is within the first 90 days of delivery, and the mattress is a Sealy Posturepedic, Simmons Beautyrest, or Serta Trump Home, you can take advantage of our comfort guarantee. We will buy back the mattress less 20%. To take advantage of this please contact us.
The mattress must be in sanitary condition, with no stains.
Is Your Mattress Sagging?
Please understand that a mattress will get a body impression. Body impressions are a sign that the padding layers are starting to conform to the body which is what they are intended to do. This will happen on all mattresses whether hard or soft. A body impression is considered any indention less than or equal to 1½ inches.
Your warranty will cover a true sag which an indentation of more than 1 ½ inches. Download our Warranty Service Request Form for more details.
Is there a Ridge in the Middle of Your King Set?
If the problem you are having is a ridge in the middle of king, understand that this is normal. The outside edges of a box spring are the most reinforced, running down the center of a king mattress is 2 outside edges. The ridge is also caused by the fact that most people do not sleep in the center of a king mattress.
To fix the ridge please rotate the mattress a quarter turn, in other words rotate the head to the side. That will allow the ridge to be slept on, and it will break down in a week or two. After the ridge has broken down complete the rotation.
Does Your Mattress Squeak?
If you are experiencing a squeak in your sleep set please do the following to find the exact place.
First stand the mattress and box spring up, and test the frame. Put pressure and weight on the frame, shake it side to side. Most squeaks are caused by the frame, and all it takes is to tighten the bolts of the frame.
If no squeak occurs, lay the box spring flat on the floor. Roll side to side on the box spring and see if a squeak occurs. You may hear a loud click, if this occurs, it is the box spring “fixing” itself.
Sealy uses an interwoven self correcting box spring, what that means is the top grid in the box spring doesn’t have any welds and sometimes the torsion bar gets stuck out of place, applying pressure causes these to click back into place, and should eliminate the squeak.
If no squeak comes from the box spring lay the mattress flat on the ground and do the same as the box spring.
Other causes of squeaks can be the floor, headboard or footboard, and sometimes it is the box spring sitting wrong on the frame.
